Beer Style: Imperial Stout
ABV: 10,5% (33 cl.)
Where did I get it: Served at Mikkeller Bar Aarhus, 80 kr.
Rating: 4 out of 5 bottle caps.

The aroma
Expedition Stout has a nice, sweet and complex scent to it; a great smell of coffee and chocolate.

The taste
An incredible mouthfeel, really great. The sweetness is the foundation of this beer. But I also find a taste of liquorice, coffee and roasted malt.
Easy to drink despite the abv at 10,5%, almost like Expedition Stout is brewed with lactose. It sticks to my teeth and lips.
The aftertaste is long and roasted.

The conclusion
Lukas, the bar manager of Mikkeller Bar Aarhus, thought that I had to taste Expedition Stout, the day I was at the bar. It was, in fact, the day I also was on the opening day at FLASK, Aarhus’ new bottle shop.
Expedition Stout is one of the earliest Imperial Stouts in the United States, and because of its old origins I had to try it out.

4 out of 5 bottle caps.

  1. The root of your writing while sounding reasonable originally, did not really sit perfectly with me after some time. Someplace throughout the paragraphs you managed to make me a believer unfortunately just for a very short while. I still have a problem with your jumps in assumptions and one would do nicely to help fill in those gaps. In the event you can accomplish that, I would certainly end up being amazed.
